August 2-4, 2010 Succeeding in the VUCA** World Tamaya Resort, Santa Ana Pueblo, New Mexico
This summer Knowledge Alliance's Center for Knowledge Use will convene our fourth retreat bringing together leaders from our member organizations, invited guests and leading experts to probe the future of American education and our role in shaping it. Similar to our previous gatherings in Aspen, Santa Cruz, and Tamaya, we will create an intimate, highly interactive environment for sharing and building big ideas for leading change in education. * * VUCA is an acronym used to describe or reflect on the volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity of general conditions and situations. The common usage of the term VUCA began in the late 1990s and derives from military vocabulary[1] and has been subsequently used in emerging ideas in strategic leadership that apply in a wide range of organizations, including everything from for-profit corporations[2] to education.[3] |
